Alberta Dreams has a dedicated and valued network of Dream Makers throughout the Province. Volunteers donate thousands of hours of their valuable time in 2015 to help make dreams come true. We are truly grateful for their service.
Although volunteers may not always be directly involved with a family, the child, or the dream, they provide an invaluable service in creating the foundations for the magical dream the children receive.
Active Alberta Dreams volunteers are also considered members. We recognize that all non-profit organizations need a foundation from which to operate and grow, and we view our members as valuable stakeholders in Alberta Dreams. Members have the right to vote at the Annual General Meeting and can offer guidance on the volunteer Board of Directors.
The Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement
The Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement provides voluntary and not-for-profit organizations with a philosophical framework for involving volunteers at the governance, leadership and direct service levels. The Code outlines the values, principles, and standards for effective volunteer practices within organizations. It also includes the Organization Standards Checklist, which will assist organizations in evaluating and improving their volunteer programs.
The Board of Directors has formally adopted The Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement from Volunteer Canada.
