Month of Dreams

Month of Dreams is an annual event held in May to create awareness around The Rainbow Society of Alberta’s Wish-Granting Program. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards giving the gift of hope by granting wishes for children in Alberta diagnosed with a severe chronic or life-threatening medical illness. Your gift will allow a child to step outside their illness and be adventuresome, confident, fearless, and experience genuine happiness.

Having a wish granted can change the life of a child who is facing a life-threatening or severe chronic illness.  It can give them, and their families, hope to keep fighting for a cure.  A wish can bring families together who are stressed and worried about their child and create memories that will sustain them through the tough times ahead.  Some children wish for things as small as a cell phone, tablet, or chromebook to help them pass the time at their overwhelming number of hospital visits, while others wish for family trips to places like Disneyland or Disney World to help create happy memories that will give them the strength to continue to face their illnesses.

Funds from this event will go through Shaw Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink to be matched up to 50% making your donation go even further!

Each week in May, there will be a different goal to achieve to bring awareness and aid the wish-granting program. This event will utilize online media tools, through social media and email campaigns. However, sponsors and individuals are encouraged to participate in any way they should choose.
