Giving the gift of hope by fulfilling Dreams for children in Alberta with severe chronic or life-threatening medical illnesses

Lincoln’s Dream
Growing up with a Chiari Brain Malformation often means spending too much time in the hospital. Linc remembers these stays well and remembers just how boring that was for him. Now 11, this young man wanted to share his once in a lifetime dream come true and his passion for gaming with the other children who spend too much time in hospital rooms with the gift of gaming.
Alberta Dreams was able to make Linc’s dream come true with the help of GameStop, Secure Entertainment, Adrienne Ng, Sage Print & Sign, and the Wolf Pack Warriors. Thanks to their generous donations and gifts in kind, Linc was able to give 2 mobile custom gaming stations – one with a PS5, and the other a Nintendo Switch, preloaded with some of his favorite games to both the Alberta Children’s Hospital and the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
Thank you Linc for sharing your dream, your kindness will impact many more children spending time in Alberta hospitals.

Owynn’s Dream
Despite living with severe Crohn’s, Owynn’s passions for new experiences, adventure and learning knew skills in the kitchen were elevated this past year with his dream come true. Thanks to a huge team effort with Alberta Dreams – Harjeet Singh and the team from NAIT – Culinary Arts Program, Chef Sean O’Connor with Fox Burger and Knifewear Edmonton for helping us to curate a truly once in a lifetime experience. Owynn enjoyed a day filled with mastering knife skills on his new beautiful knife donated by Knifewear and learning to make the best burgers in town under the skilled direction of Chef O’Connor and the instructors at NAIT. Owynn especially enjoyed the Bacon Pepper Smash burger and the Buffalo Chicken Burger.
From there Owynn and his BFF – younger sister Meghan expanded their kitchen skills even further with several classes at the Little Kitchen Academy. We hope this amazing family will be eating the benefits of this dream come true for many more years to come.

Trudy's Dream
Living with Spinocerebellar Ataxia limits Trudy’s mobility and she often enjoys spending time reading and drawing in her room.
Alberta Dreams was so excited to help to create the unicorn themed bedroom Trudy had always dreamt about. Trudy loved receiving all of the new and exciting packages as each specially curated item arrived to their home and checking each item off of the lists of surprises to come. Some of her favorites were the special projector to cast the night sky on her ceilings and walls, her new comfy trundle bed and special bedding for sleepovers with her sisters and cousins and the special unicorn craft set she could create with at her new desk.
A special thank you to Trudy’s parents for the amazing painting of her walls and assembling the many pieces that all came together to create a magical space for Trudy to feel truly loved and deserving of all of the wonderful things life has to offer.
